Purging the system

I got home and my computer was having some major hiccups. In fact I thought I had lost everything. So I backed up all of my important stuff, and for some reason it inspired me to back up and clean up my house. My mom is coming in town too. But I felt so much better getting rid of all of the things I don't use anymore. cleaning out the cobwebs. It's like life, right? If you don't clean out your brain and empty any old feelings or resentments it is only going to come back to haunt YOU! So clean out your closets, your computers and your drawers. The clutter in your head and in your house is causing you to be disorganized and it only makes things more complicated. In a nut shell i am just saying no matter what your purging it will give you peace of mind. this goes for your feelings that you don't share with others, things you keep in the closet and don't deal with and all of those clothes you just don't wear anymore. I know I went off on a tangent but I thought it applied. Love this little video of Van above, just being himself. We love this boy more than we could ever fathom!

Home Is Where the Heart Is

Wow. It was a long week without the Internet, but I have to say it was kind of nice to be without it.
It was a little break away from the computer, and a time to think and ponder about all of the things I have to say to anyone who reads my thoughts.
At first it may seem that by taking a break we may not be as productive as we would initially like. In reality, a healthy period of rest is something that gives us a real sense of the unlimited nature of our true potential.

We had the best time in Virginia Beach. It's funny we have so many places that we call home. It's kind of nice to know we have more than one home. I am so thankful this Thanksgiving for all that I have. The thing to remember about the world, though, is that it ebbs and flows, expands and contracts, gives and takes, and is by its very nature somewhat unreliable. If we only feel gratitude when it serves our desires, this is not true thankfulness. No one is exempt from the twists and turns of fate, which may, at any time, take the possessions, situations, and people we love away from us. Ironically, it is sometimes this kind of loss that awakens us to a thankfulness that goes deeper than just being grateful when things go our way. I read that somewhere and I thought it was very profound. Conner's parents are such an amazing support to us and we are truly so thankful for their love and support. When we got home last night I was rocking Van in his room holding him so close to my heart and thinking that this place is what he calls home right now. I feel so happy when he is right next to my heart.

This year has not been the easiest on us, but I can say that it has been the most life changing, and moving year of my life. I have grown in ways I never knew I could grow and I have let other selfish ways go. Today is about giving, and about raising a son, loving my husband and making sure their needs are met. I do need to have some fun too and I do that. But my heart is truly filled when I am doing things for others. It's weird how that works isn't it?

Growing Baby

I took this photo of Van and I the other day in the mirror, we are just getting ready this weekend for our trip to the east coast on Monday. To see everyone for turkey day!

Van just got two teeth last week, I took some photos of him when the teeth were coming in and I didn't even know it, but here he is telling me with his fingers that his teeth were hurting. I saw the pools of drool coming out of his mouth but since these are his first teeth. So he has two little teeth in there now and he loves feeling them with his tongue. He gets slices of frozen cucumbers everyday when he is in his highchair and he loves it.
He is super active and wanting to be moving all the time now, he is even doing a little downward dog yoga move/ push up when he is laying on his belly.

I had not let Van try sand until we were recently at the beach with everyone and he just scooped a little up in his fingers, and put it right into that mouth of his... Check out his reaction - "it tasted a little gritty and not as yummy as those apples and pears mom makes for me."

Keep the piggies warm

I tool a few days off from my blog so I could catch up on a website design and programming class. My brain hurts I have consumed so much information in these past three days.
But I am getting really excited to start building some killer sites. This blog has inspired me to start building sites for people. I have done print design for so long now. I needed to jump into some new mediums - like web design, blogs & (sewing) baby clothes. These past three days have flown by. This is the first time I have been away from Van too.
It has been good, I am relaxing in the fact that he will survive without me.
Loved these little socks, Van wore them for months when he was a newborn and I am so sad he didn't have the cowboy ones, how cute are these.

Speaking of relaxing....

I started listening to my meditation hypnosis again and I slept like a baby last night. I forgot how awesome it is for my mind and body. This girl has the greatest Australian accent and she takes you to places you never thought you could go to in your mind. I almost feel as if I am drugged. Today my mind is clear and crisp and I can bring myself back to that peaceful state much faster than I did the day before.

More later.

Hit me baby one more time

We had dinner the other night, the guys were all smiles. they look like a dance team or something in there matching dad & son stripes. We didn't plan it!

Here is a little video from the guys contest down at the beach in Carlsbad this past weekend. Good times for all, especially the Donkey's.

I found the cutest hat and knit shoes on giggle this past week. It's a bit pricey but makes any outfit look so fantastic. I am putting these on Van's wish list for under the tree this year.
Conner and I decided since we have had a tough year this year we would only spend $25 on each other for Christmas. I am fine with that, I am just happy to have a healthy son and a smile on my face most of the time.

Neck Tie Onesies

Here is Van in one of my neck tie onesies. I did a little photo shoot with him the other day, I am arranging a little shoot with some of my pieces. I just opened a shop on etsy.com
So I will let you know once I have images and my store is open for business. I will have a link directly to my shop on this blog! So you can shop to your hearts content.
I am having fun with the kids clothes. I just really want to break into the silk screening process and am about to buy some silk screening supplies so I can start doing kiddies tees too.

Tonight I had such a peaceful moment with Van as he was falling asleep in my arms, I felt his breath through his body, and as we were cuddling in the rocking chair he was reaching up to touch my neck and rub my arm. He is so gently and loving when he is falling asleep. He takes care of me in so many ways, his love feeds my soul and completes me in areas ,I never knew could be filled with so much love. It's funny when you think of having babies, the last thing you think of is that they will make you grow up. I have grown in so many ways since this child was put into my arms and I am so thankful for that little breath in his body everyday.

Baby Kisses

Adorable, Van and Kelton at the beach this past weekend! They had a little play date.

I made several neck tie onesies, I will upload a picture of what they look like. I put one on Van today and did a little shoot!
I got a great reminder today from my daily om emails "a matter of priorities" it reminded me to keep things in perspective and not get wrapped up in the little things that don't matter. Today I needed that reminder as Van's first tooth showed up, I was not feeling well, and Lola needed to be rushed to the pet hospital because of female issues that I wont go into! I was up a lot last night with Van since he was cutting teeth. I am a different person when I don't have enough sleep, somehow I think the world is ending and I am a complete wreck. Needless to say "That which doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger. " It also makes you look older too!!

I wanted to share a blog I love to read Cool mom picks!
Check it out when you have a free moment!

Thanks for being a supporter of this blog, I appreciate it!

First Words

Vegas was different this time, we went with a baby (who was sick)! He was such a good sport about it and didn't cry that much, but there was a significant increase in the crying. Van's Poppa took care of us, he put us up in a hotel and fed us too! So that was really nice of him, he is also flying us to Virginia Beach for Thanksgiving to be with family.
Thanks Poppa for your love, generosity and support!

I am a little late on my postings I know we went to Vegas over a week ago, but I have not been feeling the greatest lately either. Here are a couple of pics from Vegas, we went to Trader Vic's and Van got to chew on a cold piece of cucumber from dad's cocktail. I love that restaurant so much! The new one in Vegas is in the new Planet Hollywood hotel. We went to the Trader Vic's in Beverly Hills when we got engaged.

Here is a picture of Van in his new winter hat we bought him in Vega's. He looks sharp doesn't he?

Van has said his first word "LOLA" he pronounces it "wowa". Today I was in my closet and I heard him yell "MA" I came out and he had a huge smile on his face.

I just started making stationary with my new printer....
Here is one I made for a friend who just had a little one.
I am going to be selling stationary packs on this blog for the holidays so get your orders in now! They make great gifts, because everyone has to write thank yous after the holidays especially our little kiddies.
